Vacation rentals with a fire pit in McHenry County

The kitchen was very user friendly, excellent quality appliances and equipment. It is multi family friendly, with a secluded back yard, plenty of parking in the driveway and close to downtown, but not noisy. Perfect for going downtown Chicago via train for tourists or commuters for work and also close to several wedding venues.

I had an incredible stay at Wanda's house! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The home was exactly as described, even better in person—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending that weekend. I especially loved how cozy and convenient it was. Wanda went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, providing flexible check in/out times, ample snacks, and an abundance of amenities to help it feel more like home. Communication was smooth and prompt, and helped with everything we needed. I highly recommend Wanda's place to anyone looking for a relaxing and cozy stay in Wonder Lake! I can’t wait to come back.

Check in was easy, and everything was as described. Julie’s place met our needs for a place to stay while visiting family. Her place is clean and well supplied. Lots of room which we didn’t use all of it. The fenced in area was nice to be able to let our dogs out.

Thankful for this home away from home for our family get together. Our stay was very short, but Alexandrea was quite helpful and flexible in meeting our needs. Always quick responses to my questions.

This is the absolute cutest lake front house!! So quaint and beautifully decorated throughout. We immediately felt comfortable and right at home and are already making plans to return! Thanks for a great stay, Anna!

We enjoyed our short stay very much! The home was extremely clean and everything was in great shape! Nicely decorated - looked exactly as shown in pictures. Beautiful outdoor area, with fire pit and grill. Nicely stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds! Would definitely recommend!!!!

It was a perfect getaway for us ladies! We have a yearly get together and this was a dream escape! Carlo was very communicative and even left us a sweet welcome basket with a smores kit which we gladly partook in one of the nights. It was a clean and cozy place with lots to do. I think the only complaint I could possibly think of is that we only had access to the dock on the last day BUT it was also the beginning of the season and I'm sure it was the soonest it could be scheduled on their end. I'm so glad we had it for that last day and it was still a little rainy and chilly for the rest of the days we were there any way so we were still very pleased! The view was incredible to wake up to! The fire pit was perfect! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! Thank you again Carlo! It was beautiful and magical and everything we could have ever needed!

Definition of ‘Home Away from Home’. Joan really thinks of everything you could’ve forgotten to pack and has it! The house is super tidy and very clean. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

From her greeting you at the front door to making sure you have all that you need. Her place is perfect for a few days or even an extended stay! Located just off the highway and close to an amazing wine and restaurant - and minutes away from Beloit College! I recommend and look forward to my next stay

Sharon's place is beautiful and just as described. She has lovely furnishings, lots of pots/pans/place settings, etc. in the kitchen and one of the best area guides and information that I have seen in an Airbnb. We loved being walking distance to Libertyville and all the restaurants and stores it has to offer plus the train to Chicago. We definitely felt like we were at home away from home.

Charles is a gracious host of an impressive vintage house. The house has real plaster walls, wooden floors and trim. I felt like I was back in my Grandmother's house from the turn of the century (1900's) on the East Coast! If we come back to the area, this will definitely be our first choice.

This is our second stay with Bente and we loved it just as much as much as the first time. We were included in social activities happening over the weekend on the farm which was an extra treat and was so kind. I love being able to show my kids the farm life and take a break from our regular life.

We enjoyed our stay for a family wedding. The house location was great because we were a 5 minute drive from two family member rentals and fairly close to the wedding venue. The weather was nice for the Arizona family. Brooke has an amazing flower garden and household plants. So pleasant to enjoy.

We loved the place! It was soooo peaceful! My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning drinking coffee and watching the boats go by. This was our first time in Kenosha and we wished we had booked a few more days to explore more! Sue was awesome and very responsive to any questions we had about the area

My group had the best time at Owl's Rest! The cabin is surrounded by beautiful woods and relaxing peace. We sat at watched birds and all kinds of animals on the deck most of the day and sat by the fire at night. The hot tube was so perfect and relaxing. One night we walked down to the bar and had a fantastic meal and fun environment. Everything about this cabin was clean and well appointed. It was so hard to leave. You can't go wrong with this cabin if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing time. Lyle is very helpful and communicative. Literally the most perfect weekend in every respect. Thank you!

We were looking for a quiet place to retreat and this was exactly what we needed. The cabin was cute and comfy, the area felt safe and was super close to the water, and the view was amazing. We would totally recommend and love to come back and stay again! Everything we needed was right there!

Amazing house and tranquil location with easy access to all the area has to offer. The architectural beauty and attention to detail is incredible as well. We loved hot tub, outdoor gazebo and fire pit as well. Perfect for a getaway for all ages. We hope we can come back again soon!

Absolutely loved this Lake House. My Husband and I had a great getaway. House is spotless and had everything we needed. Loved that Dockers restaurant and the Coffee house was right on the corner and a very short walk. Also loved that we could walk to Downtown Fox Lake and check all the places out. Great how close Lake was to house for lots of fishing. Had a great time and we hope to come back.

Debbie was very communicative before and during our stay. The property has plenty of yard room for outdoor activities and we loved that we didn’t feel stacked up against a bunch of other houses. The driveway can accommodate a group of cars and we loved the reclining couch in the basement. I’d highly recommend this property.

Tibi was the most incredible host for our Bachelorette party in Lake Geneva! The house was beyond beautiful and exactly as Tibi had described. We reached out to Tibi a few times before our official trip and always received a response within the hour - when we told Tibi we were going to do a wine tasting one night at the cabin she shipped in new wine glasses for us to ensure we had enough! As we are local to Chicago we will be keeping Tibi's Cabin in mind for any future trips as it was the perfect distance for a quick get away from the city!
