Tucked away on top of a hill, the property is accessed by a long, winding drive through a park-like 3+ acre oasis in historic Germantown. The renovated 2 story cottage once served as the coachman's home and is adjacent to the main house and the former stables. We just needed a place to stay for one night close to Philly (25 min drive to Independence Hall). Clean and quiet space. Z bars were a nice welcoming snack; tea/coffee were also provided. Queen bed and queen sofa bed were comfortable enough, each could use an extra blanket. Clean bathroom with towels in the cabinet. Bring your own toiletries other than hand soap (as other reviews mentioned). Serene walk along the river right across the street. Dog barking around 7am woke me (I am a light sleeper) but otherwise very quiet and pleasant. Margaret was responsive and kind to accommodate our late arrival; we didn’t meet in person. This sunny basement space with a separate walkout entrance and sliding door steps from parking area in paved backyard driveway with a full basketball court is a really good option if you’re going to Philly or need a place to stop that’s affordable, clean, and quiet in a nice neighborhood across the street from a peaceful river.

Stayed for a night to attend a music festival. The space was very clean and nicely decorated. Check in and check out was easy. The neighborhood was very walkable and I felt safe the entire time. Would stay again.
