Irazu Volcano and Cartago City by train
A tour to get to know nature and travel in Costa Rican public transport (train and bus). The plan is to get to know one of Costa Rica's majestic volcanoes: Irazú Volcano! Undoubtedly the central theme is to be able to visit the volcano and get to know its craters up close through a viewpoint. However, the idea is to take the train from San José to Cartago, where we will find you at the station, to walk through the city of Cartago, which was many years ago the capital of Costa Rica, where we will be able to learn more about the history of the Antigua Metrópoli. Next, we will board the bus to Irazu Volcano together (if you wish we can hire private transportation, additional payment). Once we are in the Irazú Volcano National Park we can see up close, thanks to a viewpoint that provides the park, the Diego de La Haya Crater, Playa Hermosa, the Main Crater and we will climb to the highest point of the place. We will visit places like the famous Ruins, the Basilica of the Angels, the Plaza Mayor, the Market and even the Old Military Quarter of the city. We will start the tour at 8:15 am and finish around 2 pm for lunch and return by bus or train from 3:47 pm to San Jose. What are you waiting for? Book your tour with The Company!
Puerto Viejo Hidden Gems & Waterfall
It is best to take this experience on your first days here since you will learn a lot about the area. I will pick you up at your Airbnb, in a comfortable car, and we will go our first destination: The Cliff. This is the place where magnificent pictures could be taken. The walk is not difficult or long, there are just two easy steps up and the top is breathtaking with stunning views of ocean. All fitness levels are welcome. After this perfect photo opportunity we will go to the Iguana Project, breeding and releasing green iguana sanctuary, located in the indigenous Bri Bri area, where you can see free iguanas close-by and learn about Bri Bri’s and medicinal plants. Then we will go to the Bri Bri Waterfall, the magical place in the woods, where we will relax, swim in the waterfall pool, have beers and talk about Puerto Viejo. You will learn which beaches are good for surfing, which for swimming and which for snorkelling, where are the places where you can spot animals, where is the best Caribbean restaurant and where to go if you are craving sushi, and where to dance the night away. You will also learn about local culture, lifestyle and history of Puerto Viejo. Other things to note: There is aproximatelly 50 steps down to the waterfall, mosly small. Bring the water, sunscreen, mosquito spray, shoes/sandals rather than flip flops, water shoes and towel if you have them
