Dog-friendly Farmhouse w/ Peaceful Waterfall View

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Suzi and Luci’s Place was absolutely beautiful. For a home that often takes pets, it was top tier clean. They were more than accommodating on check-in time since we were traveling from east end of Long Island, it was about a 4 1/2 hour drive. Beds were extremely comfortable and clean, they had the AC and some lights on for us when we got there as well which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay very short. Paid for 2 nights but only stayed for 1. Suzi and Luci were very understanding when we messaged late at night that we had to leave due to family emergency. The view of the falls was gorgeous. Be prepared for some noise from the road at night as it backs up straight to it, but the hostesses offer ear plugs which was super nice! The shower is a bit small so beware if you are a larger person. Overall a great stay, great communication, super clean and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back and fully enjoy the home! Thank you again for a great stay :)

Robin’s place was perfect for a little Father’s Day weekend getaway! We love to go on walks and being so close to a Rail Trail was exactly what we needed. The pool table got a lot of use from us as well! Would stay again for a similar trip!

The Innkeepers Quarters at Witmer Estate, HOT TUB

DebraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful well-maintained, historic home. The Innkeeper's Quarters was very spacious and neat as a pin! The main bedroom is very comfortable with 2 queen beds, great for families that need to keep an eye on the kids. And it also has a private bedroom upstairs. Great amenities such as washer/dryer, hot tub, fancy bathroom upstairs, and everything you could ask for in the kitchen. Beautiful surroundings and so many things to do and see close by (<10 minutes from Sight & Sound Theatres). This home is attached to the main estate, so you will probably hear other guests from time to time if someone is staying there at the same time. Such a great place to be that you might not want to leave 😊

Home was very comfortable and clean! I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb's and by far this was the cleanest home I have ever stayed in. It was delightful. Location was quiet, in a very nice neighborhood on the golf course. Would definitely recommend this home, especially if you are traveling with a pet.

Super cute little Airbnb! The inside is adorable, beds were comfortable and the pool and ping pong table a bonus. We didn’t use the outside space but the fire pit area was tidy and adorable with a view of the horses and cows at the neighboring farm. Overall a great stay!

We had an incredible impromptu weekend getaway to celebrate Kids Day, and the glamping site truly exceeded our expectations. The owners did an amazing job ensuring a smooth and personalized experience, complete with delightful unexpected luxuries. It perfectly blends the comfort of a five-star hotel with the charm of camping. The kids loved the snacks and popcorn, while we appreciated the variety of coffee available. The site was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and offered a super private atmosphere, all of which contributed to a wonderful time with family. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us! After posting our weekend getaway video on social media, I received numerous requests for the link to your glamping site. Martha is a wonderful hostess. She obviously wants to make her guests comfortable and meet any need they might have. The space was comfortable and clean and there were yummy snacks and drinks which we appreciated! I highly recommend staying in this peaceful neighborhood.

Your guide to Lancaster

Welcome to Lancaster

The city of Lancaster sits at the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country, forming a bridge between the rural lifestyle in the surrounding farmlands and the local creative communities. Curious travelers have been coming here for decades for glimpses of a world that is at once surreal and increasingly more familiar. This is a place where horse-drawn buggies ply the dirt roads and markets sell the latest in local and handmade goods. The city of Lancaster, a classic Pennsylvania Dutch community, is a jumping-off point for exploring the maze of smaller roads dotted with handicraft shops and artisan food stands. Here you’ll find modern shops selling quality, handmade products alongside locavore restaurants that use ingredients and techniques from the region in fun, fascinating ways.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Lancaster

Summer tends to be warm and muggy, while winters are chilly. But the in-between months bring pleasant weather and lots to do. Lancaster’s surrounding fields burst with color as the spring flowers poke out their pretty heads, and Easter events and celebrations can make it an ideal time to stay in one of the area’s vacation rentals. Spring is also when the annual tradition of mud sales (auctions of locally made goods) attracts savvy shoppers looking for deals on things like Amish quilts, handmade furniture, livestock, and farm equipment. The sales are usually run by the local volunteer fire companies, include plenty of homemade food, and are as much social events as they are effective fundraisers. Fall in Lancaster is harvest season, which brings the opportunity to buy local produce and the tasty pies from which they’re made. Roadside farm stands, pumpkin patches, and corn mazes dominate the landscape, while the crisp air brings out the brilliant fall colors in the foliage.

Farm and Food Tours

Roaming the backroads of Lancaster County is one of the area’s main draws: that’s where the famous farm stands sell their jams and jellies, dairies produce their cheeses, and the locals pick up their whoopie pies. Susquehanna River

Explore the region by paddling a canoe down the Susquehanna River, or hiking or biking the trails that mirror it. A series of parks, water trails, rail trails, and nature preserves surround the river as it flows through Lancaster County, giving you plenty of ways to experience rural Pennsylvania.
