“By good luck, we arrived in Barbie's place in North Key Largo on March 15th, 2020 just as the world started to get crazy. We stayed for two and a half months, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't do the place Justice. When we saw them, we were concerned it might be a double wide mobile home with the creaky floors and all the poor construction that entails. The place is solid as a rock. Despite being raised, the floors did not have any creaky bits. It is quite spacious, with the kitchen living room area being very comfortable for two, and I think it would be for four as well. If you got to six, which would fill all the beds, it would be crowded but there is a great porch out front and a gas grill/ outdoor dining area for six with an umbrella on one side. The decor is quite something. With numerous Asian wood carvings (Thai?) and beach appropriate artwork. The entire place is very light and airy. The location is great, almost directly between John Pennenkamp State Park (2.3 miles) and Dagny Johnson State Park (2 miles). An easy walk or bike ride to either, with a nice bike path that heads down the keys. There's a county park across U.S. 1 with great sunsets and a nice swimming hole (an old boat basin opening up onto Florida Bay). Lots of restaurants and tiki bars. Publix 3 miles down the road and Instacart normally delivers in two hours. So all good. Shortly after we got there, they locked down the Florida Keys by setting a roadblock on U.S. 1 a few miles north of us. They literally threw all the tourists out and then started closing things down. (We just squeaked in under the long term stay exemption.) So although we didn't get to do the diving we had hoped to (either tiki bar or scuba), it turned out to be a great place to be locked down with the bike path and the county park for swimming. Landlady Barbie was always very responsive although there wasn't anything we actually needed. The place was well equipped with everything we needed. So one of those places I hate to recommend because I want it to be available the next time I want to go back to Key Largo. A memorable stay. Highly recommended.”
"Tropicasa" sits on 2 acres of privately owned waterfront property. We have 3 other rental houses here, but the property is gated and not open to the public. Perfect for groups of 8-12, this 4 bedroom house has a full bar, nice dining area, two master bedrooms with en-suite baths plus 2 guest bedrooms with shared baths. The house sits just steps from the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets almost every evening. Fish from our pier, or bring your boat! Dockage and trailer parking is included.
“This property is simply amazing. We stayed in the largest house 'Tropicasa' but I believe there are many others and they are expanding. It fit 11 ladies very comfortably and had a huge kitchen and living area. This place is a mini oasis and just an amazing escape to paradise. We had spent the first week in the busy Miami Beach and coming here was just a breath of fresh air. The other guests were so kind and welcoming to a large group and we were able to stay on the beach at night because of the lighting and open bar areas. Sunsets were stunning and the best part was you can walk almost everywhere. You would never know it was just off the main highway but we didn't rent a car and were able to walk to Starbucks, CVS, and other cafes and restaurants. This place has a true "mom & pop" feel to it and is much more homemade than the extravagant resort next door. Grilling, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and paddling were all highlights.”

“Orlando's home is great! Great location -- convenient to everything. The home is spacious and very well appointed. Was my husband and I for most of our stay, but when we had friends join us there was plenty of room for 4 adults. The kitchen has pretty much everything you could need. I love to cook and there was very little that was not there to use. There's also a nice grill for cooking outside. We loved sitting on the front porch in the rockers with a drink or just enjoying the day. The hammock was a huge hit for a nap or just relaxing and reading. Orlando was very communicative and very quick to respond to any questions. We're already booked for next March and can't wait to return!”
