This fully renovated traditional house is located in Minamiozen, Kagoshima Prefecture, the southernmost town on the mainland. When you enter the room, you will see the view of the Kinkouwan Bay spreading out across the window and Mt. Satsuma, also known as Kaihodo, on the opposite shore, and you will exclaim, "Wow!" and you'll be captivated by the blue sea. The view can be seen not only from the living room, but also from the open bathroom. You can move directly from the room to the spacious wooden deck with a BBQ stove and sink, via the deck terrace that extends from the living room. You can enjoy a relaxing private time while listening to the sound of the waves without worrying about people watching. Nearby, you can drive to Ohama Gold Beach, Sata Cape and Yukawa Falls, and Nishiharadai Panorama Park. The abundant nature along the way is also comforting. In the evening, the sunset from the living room, bathroom, and wooden deck is truly spectacular. And the starry sky after the sun sets is breathtaking. The room also has free WiFi and a projector that displays on the white wall. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, and seasonings, so you can bring your own ingredients and cook. Our stay at Shoji's family onsen was delightful. Shoji was so communicative and helpful. We picked his place based on proximity to the airport but didn't realize how remote it is and how infrequently the busses run. Shoji cheerfully offered to pick us up from the train station and to take us to the airport early the next morning. He gave us a personalized tour of the facility and made us feel so welcome! The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed hiking around the surrounding hills. Definitely recommend renting a car or having plenty of time to get in and out before and after staying there, but we are so glad we were able to make it to this location thanks to Shoji. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Michiko and Yurika’s place for 4 nights. They are very kind, they are flexible to amend my period of stay after my flight schedule was changed by the airline. Easy to find the way, walking distance to the pier to yakushima and Sakurajima. They are responsive, when I asked for a scale to weigh my luggage, they provided it to me on the early am of the next day. The place is tidy and cozy, fit for one person to stay, good location to see the sun rise. They have all I need. You just need to walk 5 mins to Tennonkan then you can take tram and bus easily, and go shopping and eating. Only 10-15 mins walk when you are carrying luggage to the bus stop in tennonkan towards airport, and the path is smooth for you to carry your case. If you stay there, you should try the pastry downstairs ( Bach and Picasso), all their pastry and cakes are very yummy. I recommend this place if you stay in Kagoshima.

It was a lovely experience, as if I was living by the sea. The moment I opened the window, I was captivated by the spectacular view of Kinko Bay and the gentle flow of time.Wake up to the sound of waves in the morning, read or work while watching the sea from the balcony in the afternoon, and take a deep breath while being enveloped by the golden sunset in the evening.It was a time when everything liberated the five senses and I could return to nature and myself. The room is clean, quiet and relaxing.The desk overlooking the sea was ideal for nomadic work, and it felt like I was working while interacting with nature.The consideration for organic living and the host's polite and warm hospitality further enhanced the charm of this place. It was a valuable place to experience "another way of life".I highly recommend this inn for those who love the sea and sky, those who want to free their thoughts, and those who want to find themselves.
