Desa Laguna really is a paradise desert island. It’s easily comparable to the Maldives in beauty and tranquility, just without the price tag. The photos don’t really do this place justice. The skilful craftsmanship of the huts is really impressive. Although rustic (there’s no aircon or hot water on the island) they’ve struck the balance of embracing the natural beauty of the island whilst providing comfortable accommodation. Canoeing and paddle boarding are included and they take you out to a local coral reef for snorkelling for free. The food is delicious. There was no need for shoes (aside from water shoes for swimming/snorkelling) and no room keys. Really can’t fault this place. It’s the perfect place to escape the busyness and pollution of Jakarta and completely unwind. There were just 5 guests (including us) on the island while we were there - so peaceful! I can’t wait to return.

We were at villa Pasirbaru for 4 days. These were wonderful, peaceful days spent relaxing in the pool and enjoying the views. Dewi is a wonderful person and her staff were extremely helpful. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this tiny house was crafted with exceptional care and cultural sensitivity. Every detail, from the intricately wooden doors to the layout of the rock garden paths, and full of palm trees and rice fields, reflected a deep respect for traditional Balinese architecture. This wasn’t just a place to stay; it was an immersive experience that honored its surroundings. We left feeling not only well-rested, but also grateful to have stayed in a space so lovingly attuned to Bali’s rich heritage. The atmosphere is nice because it's in a housing complex, the host is very responsive in the chat, the place is clean, the bathroom is clean and you can get fragrant towels and soap, highly recommended and will return again

We stayed at The Writer’s Treehouse for four nights — and left feeling like we’d been away for weeks. This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an invitation to slow down and breathe in nature. The treehouse itself is tucked beneath a giant tree, surrounded by dense jungle and birdsong. It’s beautifully rustic, modern yet minimal. From the moment we arrived, we felt held by the space. Mark and Narina have created something incredibly special here, and the local family supporting the experience (especially Sudana and Kadek) were kind, attentive, and generous with their time. From fresh coconuts and homemade banana bread on arrival, to outdoor showers fed by bamboo pipes, and the perfect canopy to offer shade from sun— it’s hard to describe just how replenishing it all felt. Even the smallest moments, like sketching in the garden or listening to the dawn chorus, became meaningful. We'd love to come back, and hope to.

I amazed with naomi nala villa really beautiful compact home. Hommy and well furnished with awesome taste of design. Really like the ambiences feel like really want to own the house for my own. The host very helpful and gave us the best service !!! Everything really details as what described even beyond my expectations. The villa even more beautiful from the pictures. The house is absolutely beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. We were traveling with a toddler, and it was a great place for kids, from the pool to the river and well-maintained gardens and paths. There was so much to do and see for the whole family. The house itself was luxurious, and the food was amazing and came in huge portions that were affordable. I highly recommend staying here, be it for a short outing from Bali or as a main travel destination. I am so glad I found Ericka's place and will definitely be visiting again soon.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! Herman is an exceptional host, genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help. Every day we enjoyed delicious food, lovingly prepared, and the place was kept spotless thanks to the incredible cleaning team. What really stood out was how involved the whole Cabana's crew was. They didn’t just host us, they made us feel at home. Herman went out of his way to suggest activities outside (like Ygen volcano hike on Java and menjangan islands tour) and even helped us organize them, making everything smooth and stress-free. Whether it was exploring the area or just relaxing at the property, every moment was special. We can't thank Herman and the team enough for the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. If you're lucky enough to book a stay here, you're in for a treat!

This is my baby's first staycation, so I considered about kid's friendly villa /house. This house has a very nice air circulation. Blue onsen and the vertical garden was the focal point of this house. My baby was so happy to play in the onsen. Overall I would say it worth the paid.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pontoon houseboat! The staff at Omah Alchy are extremely kind and helpful - giving us information about the island and booking scooter rental, a snorkelling trip and other transport for us. The location is close to the main town but far enough away that you feel you are in a private paradise. The houseboat was fantastic - being able to go for a kayak straight out of the door was a dream. Linen and room was clean, breakfast was delicious, and clear instructions were provided regarding the quirks of staying on a boat. We highly recommend this stay if you are heading to Karimunjawa!

The place is right at the centre of the city, and just by the MRT entrance. The unit itself is super homey and cozy, and has the direct view of some of the city skylines, just perfect! Pier is definitely a great host that was very responsive to the messages.

We had a lovely time during our stay here. The place has a beautiful view of the rice fields and it is very peaceful. The hosts were friendly and kind to us, helping us with any questions we had. The outdoor patio area was comftortable to relax in with a nice view. The AC worked well and it was nice having the open shower with a view. Breakfast was included which was a nice touch, made by the lovely ladies who take good care of the place. The location is a little out of the way but it's worth it getting to stay in a place like this. I would recommend renting a scooter so you can explore easily but if not you can easily order a grab/gojek/bluebird taxi. I would recommend staying here.

Desa Laguna is a heavenly place, where the eyes feast on beauty. The bungalow we chose was beautiful and very clean, the decor simple and refined, the materials quality. We greatly appreciated the focus on sustainability and the use of local materials and resources.
