You will be staying on the edge of the Eifel between Aachen, Cologne and Phantasialand, all of which can be reached in about 35 minutes by car. The train station is 10 minutes away, and a supermarket is a 5-minute walk away. Cycling/walking paths and forest right outside the door. Note: We are happy to welcome babies who are not yet walking and teenagers from 12 years and up. The property is not suitable for toddlers and children who can walk.

We offer our small, fine vacation home in the Eifel for guests (also with dogs). The renovated bungalow nestles on the southern slope of the Rur Valley and overlooks the small village of Untermaubach and its castle. In the immediate vicinity are wonderful hiking trails through former vineyards, the Celtic Hochkoppel and the typical Buntsandsteinfelsen [colorful sandstone rocks] along the Rur. Rurtal & the Eifel National Park are particularly attractive for hikers, mountain bikers/e-bikers and nature lovers.

Some restaurants are within walking distance, Belgium and the Netherlands are just a “stone's throw away”. SnowWorld Ski Hall in Landgraaf NL is only 15 km from the house. UNESCO Aachen Cathedral is only 12 km away. The hand and bath towels are provided.

The Schrickenhof is a classic four-square courtyard consisting of 2 single-family houses, a stable building, a hall, a workshop and storage rooms. The vacation home is protected under historic preservation and has been lovingly restored and renovated. The charm and many details have been preserved and highlighted. In the idyllic courtyard, wild wine grows and you can enjoy the evening sun.
