Within a radius of 40 km are the Belgian coast, the Flemish Ardennes, Het Heuvelland with the cities of Bruges, Kortrijk, Ypres and Ghent. Several cycling and mountain biking routes cross Gits. Te Lichtervelde is the oldest cinema in Flanders, Culture House De Keizer. Nearby one can walk in the Huwynsbossen on the border of Gits en Lichtervelde.
