Located a 5-minute walk to JR Otsu Station, 10 minutes to JR Kyoto Station, about 40 minutes to JR Shin-Osaka, and a 2-minute walk to Keihan Railway Kamiei Station, it also has excellent access to Kyoto Sanjo and the west coast of Lake Biwa. There is also free parking on the premises. The interior is clean, with few steps and lots of handrails, so you can rest assured. Stretch out and enjoy a space for up to 10 people. Babies are also welcome. It also has convenient access to Kyoto and Osaka, and there are many sightseeing resources such as Hikone Castle, Lake Biwa Valley, marine sports, cycling, Ishiyama Temple, and the autumn leaves, which represent Lake Biwa, and you can feel the unique appearance of Japan in each season. I love this area. There are many restaurants, major coffee shops, and convenience stores around JR Otsu station, which is a 5-minute walk away. As a fan of ancient Asian cultures, I’ve always dreamed of staying in a traditional Japanese house — and this one is absolutely perfect, whether you’re on your own or with others. From the samurai armor to the authentic living room and the upstairs area fully covered in tatami mats, every detail of the decor immerses you in a truly Japanese atmosphere. If you’re looking for a peaceful and traditional experience, this is definitely the place to be! The barbecue is great, especially when the weather is nice, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The beds are set directly on the floor in true Japanese style, but they’re very comfortable. The overall vibe of the house is calm, cozy, and welcoming. And the host? Incredible — he picked me up at the station, waited for me, took me grocery shopping, and even showed me around the beach and the neighborhood. What more could you ask for? Everything you need is right here. :D

Beautiful home next to Lake Biwa. Its a refreshing break from the city and the neighbors are all very nice. The house was very clean and spacious, the host was always responsive and helpful, even gave me a ride when I left back to the train station so I didn't have to walk with all my luggage. Only downside would be the steep stairs, so if you have balance issues maybe sleep in the room downstairs. Overall very nice place and my 2 weeks went by too quickly here. Will definitely rebook next time I'm in Kyoto/Osaka area.

Without exaggeration, I can say that this was my most wonderful AirBnB experience as a family so far. We jumped into the lake every morning, enjoyed the view towards mountains and savoured our breakfast in rural silence. We are travelling without a car and were able to reach the house very easily from the train station, even though we have a lot of luggage. For our 1.5 year old daughter, this was paradise. She enjoyed saying hello to the chickens, splashing in the lake or playing on the beach. Chie and Iain provided the perfect family friendly environment: a high chair, children's books and children's cutlery - nothing was missing. They gave us additional recommendations for activities with a child. All in all a 10 out of 10.

The quietly prepared homestay is absolutely amazing Though you won't see each other, the message contact and response were proactive and don't make you feel nonsense. The whole space is nestled. It is also very Japanese traditional accommodation atmosphere! Especially the bathroom facilities, very new and clean. Lake Biwa is not far from the back of the house, which is really beautiful, and there is also a Mini shop to buy and eat nearby. In summary, if you like a quiet and clean room, Jingru Glass is a good choice for your stay!
