You can go hiking and biking here. The Meulenwald is a continuous forest area of the southern Eifel and extends to Trier, the oldest city in Germany with many Roman relics, about 40 km away. The volcanic Eifel maars are also only about 40 km away and a worthwhile destination for a day trip.
