The Host Recommendations Program enables hosts to provide recommendations of Airbnb Services and Experiences (the “Program”). Guests booking their first recommendation under the Program will receive a coupon, and hosts will receive a reward each time a guest books and completes one of their recommendations. The Program will expire on August 31, 2026. Any extension to the Program expiration date will be communicated to participants, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.
See below for the full terms and conditions related to host recommendations as well as the terms and conditions for guest coupons, both of which apply to the Program (the “Terms”). Please note that the Airbnb Terms of Service, including but not limited to the Payment Terms of Service, apply in full to the Program. Hosts may opt out of this Program at any time by emailing referral-program@airbnb.com.
This Program permits eligible Airbnb hosts (“Recommending Hosts”) to earn money when they send recommendation links of Airbnb Services and Experiences by one of the three methods set forth below (“Qualifying Recommendations”) that are clicked on, booked, and completed by guests .
Recommending Hosts earn $15 USD (or local equivalent) for each Qualifying Recommendation that is booked and completed by the guests (the “Reward”). There is no limit as to how many Qualifying Recommendations a Recommending Host may earn Rewards on. Recommending Hosts will earn one Reward for each booking, regardless of the number of guests added to a booking reservation. Rewards will be reflected in the Recommending Host’s account at least 7 days after the guest completes the Qualifying Recommendation reservation. Qualifying Recommendations must be completed before the Program end date; reservations completed after the Program end date may not generate a Reward for the Recommending Host.
For a Recommending Host to be eligible for a Reward, and for a guest booking for the first time under this Program to receive a coupon, Hosts must share Qualifying Recommendations one of three ways - 1) sharing an Airbnb listing or link from the Recommendations screen in Messages; 2) copying an Airbnb listing link and pasting it into Messages; and 3) copying URLs of Qualifying Recommendation cards in Messages and pasting them to another surface. When a Recommending Host copy/pastes the URL of an Airbnb listing, they will only be eligible for the Reward, and first-time booking guests will only receive a coupon, if the guest clicks on the listing card (not the text link) of a Qualifying Recommendation. If a guest clicks on Qualifying Recommendations links from multiple Recommending Hosts, the host’s Qualifying Recommendation link that was first clicked on by the guest will be the one that would earn a Reward if the guest books and completes a Qualifying Recommendation booking. Recommending Hosts may not earn Rewards by clicking on and booking their own recommendation.

By participating in the Program, Recommending Hosts agree to these Terms. Recommending Hosts are responsible for any taxes due on the Reward payments. Airbnb can change the Reward amount at any time, provided that such change will not apply to any Qualifying Recommendations that were sent prior to the change. If a host is based outside the US, the host will receive the equivalent in the host’s local currency (i.e., the currency of the Payout Method that host has selected for payouts). Where applicable, the local currency equivalent will be calculated based on a currency conversion rate determined by Airbnb, which may not be identical to the real-time market rate. Whether a payout is due shall be a decision made in the sole discretion of Airbnb (acting reasonably in the circumstances), and solely based upon Airbnb’s records. Airbnb reserves the right to any remedy, including denial of payout or cancellation of host’s account, if fraud, tampering, wrongful conduct, or other violations of Airbnb's Terms of Service or these Terms are suspected.
Hosts’ participation in the Program does not, under any circumstances, create an employment, agency, partnership, or other service relationship between the host and Airbnb. Hosts may not hold themselves out as, or give any person reason to believe, that they are an employee, intermediary, agent, partner, or representative of Airbnb. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Airbnb will not carry any liability or other insurance on behalf of hosts, or in host’s favor, based on their participation in this Program. The Program is subject to change or withdrawal at Airbnb’s sole discretion at any time. For users in Australia, any modification to these Terms will be in accordance with Section 13 of the Airbnb Terms of Service.
These Host Recommendation Program Guest Coupon Terms supplement the Airbnb Coupon Terms. The Airbnb Coupon Terms apply in full to this Program.
Airbnb guests may receive a discount if they click a Qualifying Recommendation link shared with them by a Recommending Host. Guests receive one coupon in the amount of $25 USD (or local equivalent) by clicking on the listing card of a Qualifying Recommendation that has been sent by the host.
After clicking the listing card, the coupon will automatically appear in the guest’s account. The coupon may be applied to a Qualifying Recommendation booking that is at least $50 USD (or local equivalent) in value. The guest must book the Qualifying Recommendation within 60 days of first clicking on a Qualifying Recommendation link for the coupon to apply. If the guest does not book a Qualifying Recommendation within 60 days, the coupon will no longer be eligible for use on a Qualifying Recommendation booking. The reservation for the Qualifying Recommendation booking must begin within 18 months of the guest clicking on the Qualifying Recommendation link. If the reservation for the Qualifying Recommendation booking does not begin within 18 months of the guest clicking on the Qualifying Recommendation link, the coupon will no longer be eligible for use on a Qualifying Recommendation booking. If an existing, unredeemed coupon is no longer eligible for use on a Qualifying Recommendation booking, guests can obtain a new coupon under this Program by clicking on a new Qualifying Recommendation link from a Recommending Host. The new coupon must be redeemed within 60 days from the date the guest clicked on the new Qualifying Recommendation link and can only be applied to a Qualifying Recommendation booking that begins within 18 months of the guest clicking on the new Qualifying Recommendation link. If a guest has an existing, eligible coupon under this Program and clicks on a subsequent Qualifying Recommendation link, the expiration date for the coupon will not restart and will still be calculated from the date the guest clicked on the original Qualifying Recommendation link.
Coupons under this Program will be automatically applied to the guest’s next Qualifying Recommendation booking (valued at at least $50 USD or local equivalent) at checkout. If the guest has multiple coupons in their account, then the coupon with the higher value will be applied to their next Qualifying Recommendation booking. Bookings under this Program must be made before the Program end date, otherwise the coupon may expire.
Please Note: Guests may only redeem one coupon under this Program. Once a guest has redeemed a coupon under this Program, clicking on subsequent Qualifying Recommendation links from Recommending Hosts will not generate a new coupon, even if the associated message says the guest may receive a discount or coupon.
