Our place is only suitable for those willing to make a 10 minute walk uphill to enter into a totally private world of its own. A breathtaking view of the Alps, rose garden, pond, six hectares of park and forest shared only with your hosts. The abundant spring fed water is its most precious secret and the sound of water is ever present. As the upstairs apartment IS NOT HEATED from October through April we put two single beds in the large living room to accommodate a total of four guests.

ANCIENT STABLE IN CANOVA SINCE 1672

Canova is near the Toce River, just few minutes from Domodossola. The medieval village consists of a dozen of stone houses builded from 1200 to 1700, all restored. The accommodation is an old restored stable, aged 1672, used for the horse change. The village is close to the most important ski resorts of Ossola Valley, Monte Rosa, Premia Spa with hot springs, Toce Waterfall and Lake Maggiore. A beautiful, idyllic place in the middle of the mountains – perfect for switching off. The apartment was clean, tidy and there is a wood-burning stove. There was always plenty of wood. The terrace overlooking the valley and the surrounding mountains was a dream! Thanks to the awning, you also had a shady spot in the sun, ideal for relaxing. All around, the cows graze with cowbells. Massimo lives in the apartment above. You can hear it sometimes. The accommodation is very well equipped – it had everything you need. The path up to the hut is winding and narrow in places, but quite doable. It takes about 6 minutes by car to get down to the village, where there is a small mini-market, if you have forgotten something. A hike from Lago di Antrona to Lago di Campliccioli and around was really nice. A hike above the accommodation at Lago Alpe dei Cavalli is also worthwhile. You can even see ibexes. A really nice place to relax.

Lucia is a very sweet and very welcoming person. She welcomed us like a neighbor bringing us bread she made (very good) Impeccable house! Only flaw found was the 3rd bed not present in the property but replaced with an inflatable double mattress (with a sofa bed it would have been perfect) I highly recommend it!

This is a great place to explore the Alps. Location is perfect. Close to amenities of Domodossola but within a small hamlet. Yes - you need to be fit to stay here, as there is a steep walk to the accommodation. The home has so many places to sit and breathe in the beauty of the place.
