Waterfront vacation rentals in Grand Port District

Blue Reef is an amazing apartment with a beautiful terrace with sea views over Blue Bay. The hosts Xavier, Sonia (who we didn't) meet, and Medgee the maid (who we did) were wonderful - perfect AirBnB hosts. We were given a really useful welcome guide, a lovely gift and were made to feel completely at home. The apartment is stunning! Wonderfully clean, just like the photos and appointed so well that it was a pleasure to stay for 2 weeks. We know the area well and had our own car to travel on the island. Blue Bay is relatively quiet with a few restaurants and food bars, and it was perfect for us, and VERY close to the sea! The apartment has pretty much every utensil and appliance you might need to self-cater. It's clearly a well-loved home and it was a pleasure and a privilege to call it our home for 2 weeks. We didn't use the roof area much (too hot!) so I can't really comment on that or the hot-tub, but everything else about the apartment was perfect!

5 star holida A dream holiday. This penthouse leaves nothing to be desired. Dream view, dream bed, dream kitchen, dream bathroom, cosy furniture, great air condition, super clean. And the best is the always light wind. We even slept with the bedroom door open. A blessing. We cooked every day. All appliances worked - all kitchen utensils were available. There is no shortage. Absolutely a dream.

Sylviane is a host of great kindness, flexible and very accommodating. We stayed one night at his place Sylviane has adapted to our time constraints. It is full of good advice about the places as well as the restaurants that are nearby. We enjoyed interacting with her. The accommodation is located near the waterfront (which offers a beautiful sunrise), the market is also next door. The rooms are spacious, the shared kitchen is well equipped and breakfast is included in the rental. A very good place in Mahebourg.

We had a wonderful stay in the appartment. Everything as described. One day we met Sidick ... he was very helpful and gave us some tipps what we can do in the area. Would book it again.

Obviously the location, right on the beach, is a big draw, and it more than lives up the description - the snorkelling was incredible. But the house too was a pleasure to stay in. It had a real sense of being someone's much loved holiday home (albeit completely renovated and pristine), as opposed to a simple rental. There are hooks on the wall outside for your kit just where you would want them to be for example and there is quality kit in the kitchen. The location is very quiet and a car is essential, but if you just want to chill, this is a fantastic place to do it.

Very nice apartment on the 2nd floor. View of the beach and the sea with well-kept meadows and palm trees on the way through the garden to the sea. Shade for relaxing and reading. No TV but not so important, room nice and with air conditioning, living area and kitchen very spacious. Kitchen well equipped and friendly welcome and always helpful. HG Jürgen

Our expectations were surpassed. We couldn't have ended our tour in a better place. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. The place is exactly as described, the hosts very friendly, helpful and warm. The beach section is perfect and the water is crystal clear and also perfect for snorkeling. We recently spent five nights at Jean's place and were thoroughly impressed. The villa's location is simply fantastic! Situated right on a stunning beach with a coral reef just 15 meters away, it's ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. We had a blast enjoying these activities with our kids. The villa's terrace was another highlight, providing us with warm and cozy evenings accompanied by the soothing sound of the ocean waves. While the villa lacks air conditioning, the natural ventilation from its prime location on the Indian Ocean, coupled with the fans in the rooms, kept us comfortable. The helper was coming daily and Jean also recommended local fishermen who supplied us with fresh seafood for a delightful beachside BBQ experience. The only minor downside was the humidity, which is perhaps unavoidable when staying directly on the ocean in January. However, this didn't detract from the overall exceptional experience. Our family rates this accommodation 10/10.

We spent a wonderful week at Jean-Michel's house, with our 1.5 year old child. The house is very pleasant to stay in, with a beautiful garden and direct access to the pretty beach of Pointe d'Esny. Ideal for snorkeling: corals, a multitude of pretty fish… but also a lot of sea urchins, so it's better to have water shoes! The house is perfectly equipped, and the icing on the cake: optional housekeeping and cooking service. A real plus, especially with the delicious Mauritian dishes prepared by Nadine - a big thank you to her! The location is also great, close to Blue Bay, perfect for baby to splash around in peace. We'll be happy to go back!

We had a wonderful stay at Melissa's place. She was very helpful, flexible and responsive... and patient because we had many quacks that her kindness helped overcome! The place is a dream house: superb (more than in the photos), well equipped, with direct access and a view... We'll be happy to go back.

We stayed a week in the apartment. The apartment is very modern and newly furnished, also it was very clean It has air conditioning in each bedroom and living room, which was very beneficial in the hot temperatures. Patrice checked with us to see if everything was okay and was always very friendly. A contract is signed at the beginning and a deposit is payable. This is very professional and we have found it to be good. At night we could hear the barking dogs from the street even the windows were too. We can really recommend this place!

We had a great time at this house and garden filled with birds. We enjoyed the quality of the hospitality of our hosts. Jasmine, the cleaning lady, prepared some delicious dishes for us! I highly recommend this rental. Thanks to Janine and Jean Pierre for a great time with you and your family.

We had a wonderful week in Tatiana's beautiful apartment. The view of the Indian ocean was spectacular. We practically had the pool and beach to ourselves when we were there as very few others around. Tatiana was very responsive, particularly when we had an issue with the hot water on day one. It was all fixed very quickly. I hope one day we can return as it was the perfect base for us to explore the area. Thank you!

Great stay at Isabelle's who is a simply amazing host. In addition to the many tips about the surrounding area, we offered a guided tour of the south of the island and put us in touch for a dolphin and sperm whale boat tour. Top floor apartment with superb sea view terrace to see the most beautiful sunset. No complaints, go ahead! Thank you Isabelle

Lovely host, lovely place.

A wonderful stay with family. Everything is as described & Jimmy is a friendly great host. The apartment was clean, well maintained & spacious for our family group of 5. The Bali themed interior is an absolute delight at the apartment. Nice swimming pool , walking distance to Flic en Flac is a great plus. I would highly recommend this apartment for families.

what a gem of a place. easy parking, easy self access arrival. stunning beach right nearby. at the end of the flic en flac restaurant strip so perfect location really. perfectly serviceable supermarket with good opening hours in town too. ian answered all our questions and helped us out great!

Such a nice place and right by the dock where you can book activities like 5 islands tour. People managing the place just downstairs were really lovely and helpful too, a couple of tiny issues were fixed really quickly and everyone was very responsive - would really recommend staying here!
