We had a great stay at Toes in the Sand. It was even better than pictured. I was originally worried from the photos that maybe you couldn’t see the ocean from the main living floor, but you absolutely can see the ocean from nearly everywhere in the house. It’s lovely. Such a charming house, quiet, beautiful beach, and near enough to groceries, gas, and anything else you’d need. Also, had a great Oceanside dinner at Fish Heads <30 min north! We had a great three night stay, my three adult children and I. The beach was surprisingly almost ours to ourselves. For an older traditional OBX house, it was well updated and very well appointed. The central floor plan is very open. I love it when you can be in the kitchen cooking while talking to everybody in the living area and those around the dinner table at the same time. Awesome view of the ocean off the back deck. We sat in the hot tub and still see the ocean. Im sometimes leary of hot tubs at the beach, a lot of times they are not well maintained. Danielle's was spotless and the water chemistry was perfect and safe. There was absolutely nothing we needed or any place where we needed to go that was not within a 5-minute drive. All of my family are fisherman. if you like to fish, there's not a better place to stay. getting from the house to the beach to surf fish takes less than a minute. we walked up to the OBX Pier several times to fish, probably less than a 5 minute walk.

Kite's Inn was exactly as advertised and more. The home is beautiful, well-furnished, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We loved the location with great views of the Pamlico Sound. The House was ideal for pets and small children. The grass yard allowed our dogs to play outside and to swim in the Sound without having to worry about stepping on burs and the beach was ideal for our 1 1/2 year old grand child. The house is easy walking distance to nearby attractions and restaurants. Joshua is a great host who was responsive and proactive with ideas when we had a rainy day.

Location of home was close and convenient to local grocery store and restaurants. Beach is within walking distance, but plan on carrying a light load or plan on renting a heavy-duty beach cart from a local rental place. The path to the beach from the house begins as a road which turns into a boardwalk with several steps up and down, once boardwalk has ended the trek through the dune is lengthy with soft sand partially up hill. A standard beach cart will not be your best interest; you will need one with large beach style tires. There are close ORV ramps if planning on driving a 4x4. Area attractions are a lengthy drive away; Avon is more laid back and less busy area. Overall, house is older as most properties are in Avon. For a simple laid back relaxing place to just chill and relax, this was a perfect fit. Host is very communitive and informative about the residence. Kitchen is fully stocked for all necessary meal planning needs. I would stay here again in the future.

I can't say enough positive things about Anthony or Diamond Shells. Beautiful beach front home. Do understand that, while the walk to the beach is very short, it is quite sloped - this is the case for every single beachfront home due to the topography. The house was absolutely perfect, and so was Anthony. Very responsive host and answered all questions very promptly and graciously.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I booked this OBX Airbnb while I was deployed, with the goal of reconnecting with my family and soaking up some much-needed beach time. This trip was exactly what I needed, and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. The Airbnb itself was cozy and comfortable, located in a perfect spot to enjoy both the calm of the area and easy access to all the nearby attractions. The host made sure everything was clean and well-stocked, and the house had all the amenities we could ask for. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the beautiful weather, and the proximity to the beach made it so easy to just step outside and relax by the water. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure—spending time with my loved ones, soaking in the OBX vibes, and checking out some local gems. If you're considering a trip to the Outer Banks, this Airbnb is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Kalid's house Las Palmas was the perfect place for my family and I. The location is perfect for getting right onto the beach. This is the cleanest and most well kept house I've stayed at. I've stayed in the Outer Banks several times and this is the best experience we've had by far. Kalid and his property manager a very responsive to whatever you need and make sure your stay is the best it can be. If you plan to travel to Rodanthe and this place is available, book it right away!

There was plenty of room for the four of us! Everything was clean and tidy. While you are still pretty close to a lot of other houses, you have views of the ocean in between, and on the stormy nights, we could hear the waves crashing on the beach. The house is also very close to an ice cream shop and The Froggy Dog restaurant, which serves an excellent dinner menu. The house also provides beach chairs, sand toys, kayaks, etc. so you don't have to bring anything but your beach towel! Overall we had a pleasant stay.

This was a wonderful experience. We loved the well stocked kitchen and dog friendly house. No one complained, from adults down to teenagers :). Marsha and Steve gave some excellent recommendations for our first stay at Outer Banks. Teens/young adults loved the outdoor shower and mom loved the washer/dryer. The amount of outdoor furniture was impressive. Such a beautiful weekend! Beach is close enough to walk to and the chairs were very helpful. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful stay ! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. One of the best features was that every bedroom had its own private bathroom, which made things so convenient for our group. The kitchen was fully equipped, the living spaces were cozy, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The host was responsive and helpful, making check-in a breeze. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free getaway!

Great private location very close to the beach, and perfect for kids to play outside and ride bikes around safely! The pool was definitely not in walking distance, but worth a quick drive as it wasn’t ever too busy and a very nice place. Kids loved the outdoor shower and adults loved the porch seating. Host very responsive and friendly!

This home is really fantastic. The location is ideal for access to the ORV ramps at Cape Hatteras as well as other points of interest. It's super convenient to get to the grocery store and several great restaurants. The neighborhood is so lovely and walkable. We did not utilize the pool as it was early in the season / cold outside but it looks wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the indoors and so many great spaces to sit outside and enjoy the peaceful getaway. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Traveled with another family - three kids - everyone had plenty of room and a great time.

Our extended family had a wonderfully relaxing vacation at Seventh Heaven. The house was clean with lots of room—and Theresa or Mandy responded quickly to any of our questions. Due to the many levels, be aware there are multiple stairs to navigate, but not an issue with us. The kitchen was well equipped and the beach was pristine and beautiful. Restaurants we recommend: Cockeyed Clam and Diamond Shoals.

Loved my stay !!! Beds were super comfy! And the house was super nice with a 10 min walk to the beach !

The name speaks true! It really is a beautiful hidden gem in Avon. From its ideal location to everything, to all the amenities the host provide. This location has been the best I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. It made my boyfriend’s birthday weekend and our friends loved it! David & Misty are truly wonderful hosts. Thank you again! 😊

This house was absolutely perfect! Not only was it exactly as pictured and described, but it felt very cozy, while still being spacious and offering lots of options. The location provided quick access to a beautiful beach, and a great ‘central’ location for day trips to Ocracoke, Pea Island, Nags Head and Hatteras, which gave our group great flexibility when people wanted to strike out on their own and then meet up later. Having the kayak and paddle board handy was nice for those who just wanted to relax and ‘chill’ for the day. We especially loved morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the sound, and being able to have dinner together on the huge screened in porch. The kitchen was extremely well-appointed which made meal prep a breeze. Communications with the host could not have been easier. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!

We had a very pleasant stay at Amy’s home nestled in a very quiet and serene sound side neighborhood. We found Just Enough to be more than enough for 2 and a dog! Loved the screened porch and spent almost every evening out there just relaxing and watching the storms on rain days. We were a very short drive to some really great restaurants- loved the sandwiches from Pamlico Deli and steamed shrimp from Tavern 12! Great nearby coffee shops, gift shops, and bakeries (get an Apple Ugly from Orange Blossom!). The jeep rental spot is one road over so that was convenient for our beach off-roading day. For one first time visitor (2 if you count the dog), and one returning to OBX after many years, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay down in Frisco at Just Enough. Highly recommend this rental and we would absolutely return on a future visit to the Outer Banks. Thank you for everything!

We came to Rodanthe to relax and that’s exactly what we did. This is the only Airbnb in the Outer Banks that we’ve considered staying at again. This rental house was more like a home which is rare to find at the beach. So many thoughtful extras to make your stay more enjoyable. The outdoor shower was everything. I didn’t use the shower inside our whole stay. The hot tub was clean and heated up quickly. The master bed was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the deck talking, laughing, playing games, and enjoying the sounds of the ocean and the breeze. Beach access is right in front of the house which made for a very short walk back to use the bathroom or get a drink. I appreciated having just one flight of stairs to walk my senior dogs up and down to go to the bathroom. The host was very prompt getting back to me and answering all of my questions. We had a slight issue that was out of the host’s control but they did everything in their power to make it right.

If I could give Chris a ten star review, I would. We came for our anniversary and she made it the best weekend we could ask for. So many special touches , and she even decorated for our anniversary. The water views are breathtaking and the neighborhood was so nice to walk around. We loved sitting outside in the evenings watching the sunsets on the high deck And if there was rain there is a covered screen in porch. She had anything we needed and was so kind to us ! We Will come back again 100% !!

Had a great stay for our honeymoon, was very clean, the house was cute and cozy, close to everything, just a short walk to the beach. Highly recommend staying here.

I hate to gush about Margot's home, I need to make sure it stays available when we return! When I say the pictures dont do this place juatice, I'm not exaggerating. The entire upstairs is just one LARGE open space. Kitchen with everything you could possibly need. An amazing reading nook with a view of the ocean. Two porches to see the ocean from and a porch to see the sound off the back! And the master bedroom has an amazing screened in porch that's oceanview. I love that the steps go directly to the enclosed dog lot so you can let your guys out safely. The super quick walk across the road and over the dune couldn't have been easier for the best beach access and the neighborhood is so very private and quiet. I cannot say enough about the communication with Margot being so quick and positive and she has the best housekeeper on the island for sure.

Mary Ellen and Jim’s place was absolutely perfect for our stay on the island. It was quaint, clean, and overall lovely. The outdoor shower was amazing and exactly what you need after a long day at the beach. On top of that the AC is top notch, even on the hottest day we knew we could come back to a cool space to relax and unwind. The location is central to all the great spots on the island, just a short golf cart ride! Mary Ellen and Jim were very accommodating in providing us with everything we needed from golf cart chargers to bikes and ocean kayaks. Also, the handwritten note welcoming us to the space and to the island was a really nice touch, making us feel right at home . We will definitely be coming back for another stay.
