Holidays on a traditional Portuguese farm. New stone house with central heating, romantically located in the vineyard. Terraces for all sunshine. Amazing views of our magnificent mountains. Spacious kitchen, fully furnished, with dishwasher and fireplace, living room with double sofa bed and adjoining terrace, bedroom with double bed, ideal for a family with 2 children. Bathroom with shower box, satellite TV with German programs, Portuguese TV, internet access. BBQ area, firewood available for fireplace and heating, as well as the possibility to participate in life on the farm. Absoulute tranquility, unadulterated nature, the opportunity to relax really deep. Summer and winter starting point for many activities in front of a magnificent mountain backdrop with almost unlimited personal freedom. There is also the possibility to set up a tent, as well as use the sports facility in the village, or swim at the "posso de nadar" in the Rio Carapito. Experience Portugal where it's really original. We speak: German, portugues, english, francais. Our Quinta is located in Matanca, a small idyllic farming village in Fornos de Algodres County. People here live mainly from agriculture, which is still done very traditionally. Ox and donkey carts are not uncommon here and there are still large flocks of sheep and goats. There are a lot of rare plants and animals here in the rest of Europe, such as the saffron crocus, many reptiles and large birds of prey. We are located right in the middle of the Dao wine-growing area, on the tributary of the Rio Dao. We also produce a good drop from Touriga, Jaen and Tinta roriz vines with all its new products, such as Aguadente. From here you can reach the natural park "Serra de Estrela" in about 20 minutes, with its 2000 m high peaks, even in winter a worthwhile destination. Our Quinta is 10 min. from the A25. The A25 runs from Aveiro on the coast to Viilar Formoso at the Spanish border. No matter which side you come from, exit Fornos de Algodres, halfway between Viseu and Guarda. Then in the city center and behind the government building (camara municipal, not to be missed) turn right towards Matanca. 10 min. always straight ahead and at the entrance to the village follow the wooden signs "Quinta do Mineiro", again out of Matanca after about 500m you will see us on the left on the slope. The nearest airport is in Porto (180km), where we are also happy to pick you up for a fee. If you come by train, there is an intercity connection from Lisbon or Porto directly to Fornos de Algodres, where we will be happy to pick you up. However, a car is an advantage here, public transport is rare and unreliable here, and our sights are best reached by car or two-wheeler. I only accept couples with children or a coupleI do not accept single men.

The house is located in the village of Maceira located 11 km from Fornos de Algodres, 45 km from Guarda and Viseu, and within a radius of about 23 km of historic villages such as Linhares da Beira, Foz Côa, Trancoso, and very close to Serra da Estrela, and Vilar Formoso. The air that is breathed in this area is pure and there is a deep silence that only the mountain can offer us for rest. Local people are very hospitable. Maceira is high above offering fantastic views and a river beach 8km away.
