We offer one of the area’s only PRIVATE lake retreats. Come and enjoy a getaway in our peaceful lake community! The Town of Lake Waccamaw was incorporated in 1911, however, was inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years. Southeastern North Carolina was covered by a shallow ocean more than two million years ago and you might find interesting fossils including sharks teeth, shells and coral as you swim in the shallow water. Be sure to visit Lake Waccamaw State Park to view the 2.75 million year old whale skull that was discovered embedded in a limestone outcropping several years ago. Measuring nearly 9,000 acres, the lake is unique in many ways ecologically with several endemic species of fish and mollusks (found nowhere else in the world).The lake is about 10 feet at the deepest with shallow waters along its shores, making it perfect for families with children. Tourist attractions include a local museum in a 1904 train depot, Lake Waccamaw State Park, our beautiful library, several restaurants, grocery and retail stores. The guest house is totally private from our home and features a vintage lake theme queen bedroom with flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), en suite bathroom with shower. All bed and bath linens are furnished. The common area/living room has a flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), a variety of movies, books and magazines, toys and board games for all ages. The fully equipped kitchen has a nice size refrigerator with a separate freezer, electric coffee pot or French press, microwave, and electric stove. A variety of cookware and utensils are available for your use as well as kitchen staple items. A washer and dryer is available in the garage below the apartment. We provide a few basic breakfast items for your first morning. There is a grocery store nearby for most anything else you would need. The living room couch/futon converts to a very comfortable full size bed. There is a large desk for our business clients and free WiFi. Other furnishings include a table with four chairs, rocking chair and leather recliner. Guests have access to an outdoor kitchen with a gas stove, and a double sink. You may use the charcoal or gas grill, enjoy the fire pit (wood provided), several bicycles, and two kayaks. We also have corn hole boards and other yard games you may use. Sorry, we are not able to accommodate your pets, but can recommend a delightful getaway for them. Although our log cabin isn’t on the lake front, it is just steps (the length of a football field!) from your apartment. You may use the pier for sunning, swimming, launching a kayak, fishing, relaxing or picnicking under the shaded canopy. Lake Waccamaw is conveniently located one hour from many beaches in Wilmington, N.C. and one hour from Myrtle Beach, S.C. We personally recommend Sunset Beach, which is about an hour.l

Adorable Downtown lodging-dogs welcome! Apt.102

This 1-bedroom & bathroom is perfect for 1 or 2 guests. It’s in the heart of downtown so you will hear traffic but it’s our most popular place! It has black out curtains a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker & a dining table. There’s a restaurant/bar downstairs so you will hear some noise during their hours of operation they close Tues-Thur@ 8:00pm Fri -Sat@ 9:00pm & closed on Sun. & Mon. The WiFi is slow & goes in & out, if that’s important, you may want to book at one of our other locations.

Anne is just an all around amazing host. She was there to greet us with a very friendly smile. And was available any time very quickly when I had a question about her futon. Birdie and Foxy were just the sweetest girls, too! It’s nice to have a dog friendly place. We felt so at home. It was very comfortable and serene. I find myself traveling to the Myrtle Beach area often as I have family in the area. I do hope Anne allows us to come and stay at her place again.

My visit to the area wasn’t for pleasure, it was last minute and stressful. I contacted Jerry at the absolute last minute possible and he responded quickly and was able to accommodate me on such short notice. I had to add an additional day, also last minute, and again he accommodated me. The property is peaceful and relaxing and the only ‘dangerous’ thing I encountered was the nightly frog that hung out the deck waiting for some snacks ;) Amazing property and amazing host.

I came up this weekend for my daughters 16th birthday. She wanted to go to Myrtle and I wanted somewhere quiet and safe to retire to. We came across this gem! In my 10 years of using Airbnb, the Magnolia Loft is the CLEANEST place I’ve stayed at. On top of that, the furniture and beds are comfortable, it’s peaceful and quiet, there’s a pool and fenced children’s area and Michael and Tiffani are the best! Helpful, responsive, friendly and down to earth. I have nothing but praises and look forward to staying again!

Very happy with the place overall! It was very quiet and peaceful.. Was stocked with everything we needed, even down to very nice shampoo and conditioner for guests to use! I had a small situation come up that prevented me from checking out on time, both Lisa and Miranda were very understanding and worked with me.. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful couple nights stay in Whiteville! Will definitely look for one of Lisa's rentals for any future stays!

This home is set on an idyllic private property which is peaceful and quiet, yet just off the main road for easy access. The home is fully renovated and a comfortable place to stay. Wifi works well and the kitchen has all the kitchenware plus basics like coffee, tea, and some canned goods. Living room couch is very comfortable with a modern smart TV. Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, with shampoo/conditioner provided. We would highly recommend this place.

We stayed one night to break up long drive across the state. The place is a bit bare bones and run down, but it was absolutely spotless and clean. Great value. We chose this over a hotel and would make the same choice again.

Tall cypress trees rise from the calm water, their trunks partially submerged and reflecting in the surface. Lush greenery surrounds the trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, creating a serene atmosphere in the wetland area.
