What you'll do

Throughout history, all kinds of people have walked and written for creative inspiration and as a form of meditation.

Want to tell your story but don't know how to start?

Feeling creatively blocked, looking for change or need some inspiration?

Need a safe space to process what you have experienced during the pandemic and want to figure out what steps to take going forward?

Walking in nature combined with writing offers various physical and psychological benefits and it has been scientifically proven to help boost creativity and lower stress levels.

Let's reconnect to your creativity with Cape Town as your muse. Join me on a leisurely artistic walk through the botanical gardens of Kirstenbosch. You'll be given fun, thought-provoking prompts to get unstuck and inspired.

We will stop along the way to write, share and explore using the five senses. At the end, you'll have a creative practice that you can easily apply in your daily life as a source of inspiration, meditation or comfort.
This is an experience for self reflection and personal growth.

Not sure what an creative walk is? Just ask and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Other things to note
Please arrange your own transportation and be on time. Cape Town is known for having four seasons in one day, so bring sunscreen or a hat to protect your skin and a warm jacket in case of wind.

Where you'll be

We'll experience the forest with just our sense of sound and touch on the sensory Braille Trail, share stories and write by the pond and enjoy a kaleidoscope of colour through the fynbos flowers. Experience art outdoors as we study the stone sculptures. Connect to the therapeutic power of nature and get a bird's-eye view of the gardens by walking along the popular and world-famous 'Boomslang' (tree snake in Afrikaans) tree canopy.

If you want to see more, hear more, illuminate more, join Amy for an delightful two hours in the beauty of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Through a series of fun and creative writing exercises, you'll see the the world and yourself differently and leave with a heightened sensory awareness which I think will augment the creative process when writing, presenting experiences or just engage with the world more mindfully. Highly recommended!

A memorable morning experience in the lovely Kirstenbosch gardens. A really wonderful and meaningful activity to spend in natural surroundings, exploring yourself through interaction with nature, writing, doodling or drawing, discussion and tuning into all your senses. I can highly recommend this as a way to honing your life skills and reconnecting with your deeper self, whether on holiday or living in the area.

What an unexpectedly memorable and soulful process. Loved the citation and the care. As someone who works in the arena of Creative Leadership, I was stretched and surprised by the creative exercises and most particularly, the power of the sounds Cape. Wow, Amy. You have such a gift to offer here. Thank you for taking us on a life-affirming process. Highly recommend it especially with a parent, your best friend or partner. I did it with my partner of eleven years and was so delighted with the new experiences that emerged.

This experience really taught me to trust myself more by tapping into all 5 senses. Amy is very friendly & challenges you but never forces you. I learned tips that will certainly enhance my writing and the overall creative process as well. I'll be sure to book this again once I return. Book this, you won't regret it!
