We took the Township tour with Beaty and were very impressed. In a small, pleasant group, she told us a lot about the history of the townships as well as about the "Mad About Art" project. In addition to background information on the so-called Mandela houses, she gave us important insights into the life of the township residents.
Particularly touching was her personal life story and her path to "Mad About Art", which she shared very openly with us.
Afterwards, we were guided through the township by her daughter and another friend, which made the tour even more authentic and personal. The contact with the children on site was a lot of fun and a nice experience.
Overall, the tour was very interactive – many questions were asked from the group, which the guides addressed in detail and openly.
