Vacation rentals with lake access in Douro River

We pass it barbarous. The view of the house is a real pleasure. The photos totally match the reality. The hosts were so accommodating. I would go back without hesitation!

An amazing house in an amazing place. Modern, clean, quiet and superbly equipped. Surrounded by terraced vines with world class views of the Ribeira Sacra and the Rio Miño. We loved our short stay here. It was tranquil but we also had one amazing lightning storm to experience. You can just sit and relax or use it as a base to explore. Best to get all your supplies before you get there as there is nothing in Belesar. Or you can pop into Chantada like we did. Great communication with Jose as well. A great stay

We stayed 3 nights, but longer would have been nice too. The house is spacious, clean and close to the city center. With nice restaurants and beach. Even with children, this seems like a great location. The possibility of using the bikes is a nice bonus. And there are bike paths :-). We highly recommend it.

Paloma is wonderful and very kind host. Extremely helpful from the very moment we met her for check in, until the end when we checked out. The accommodation was very safe, clean and organized and met our expectations. Very nice place for getting away from city life and just relaxing on the property. Also, the surrounding areas in Candeleda are beautiful with a lot of mountainous to explore while hiking and walking around, along the river, as well as surrounding areas. A true slice of paradise! 🌿✨ From the first moment, we felt welcomed as if we were at home — but with the charm of a heavenly retreat. Diogo was an exemplary host: always available, attentive and genuinely concerned about our well-being. Your kindness made the experience even more special. The space is simply stunning, perfect for resting the mind and recharging the soul. And as if the surrounding nature and tranquility of the place were not enough, we had charming visitors: adorable kittens that appeared unexpectedly and immediately won our hearts. They were a sweet and caring asset, which gave even more life to our stay. We recommend it with our eyes closed - and with our hearts full.

My family very much enjoyed this unique and calm location in a refurbished mill house. There is a boardwalk across the road that brings you to the village. David was responsive and helpful. Would gladly return.

Great space. The family enjoyed the ample space. A car is required, but we anticipated that. Having the bicycles and kayaks were great unexpected perks that we enjoyed greatly. The air-con came in handy too for the time of the year we visited. Jose, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating with our requests, even at odd hours. Highly recommended and we will pass on the message to friends akin.

Very nice place with a beautiful garden and amazing views. The lake is easily accessible with a kayak, paddle boards, and life jackets provided. Quiet location, 1 hr 15 mins from Madrid by car.

Peace by the water (at the end of the world) The accommodation could only be found after a telephone inquiry, although there are only a few buildings in the village. This is VERY secluded, if you want to stay longer, you should shop well. It only had two cafes and one (closed) restaurant there. The nearest shop is about a 1/2 hour drive away. However, it would also be possible to travel by train. However, it is fantastically beautiful right on the river and the traffic on ships, trains and cars can almost be counted. I particularly liked the surroundings with the many flowers, the access to the water and the many seating and lounging options outdoors, both in the shade and in the sun. If you want to take a boat trip, you don't need to drive away, the host also does such. You can also rent boats from him, tips for fishing were also provided. The accommodation is worth its price, is well equipped and has parking in the shade. Thank you to everyone

This was a nice place on a quiet street. It had a comfortable bed and everything we needed in the studio apartment. The restaurants in the area were delicious. If you want to be a little bit away from the Porto downtown this is a great option. We had a vehicle and were able to drive over to Porto in 20 minutes. This place is made up of more local people and culture. It was quiet and beautiful. Only 1 minute walk from the water.

Mónica’s place was amazing- looking over the river and right next to a river beach, with the use of the spa, a barbecue and a kayak as well! The place was so lovely and gave us the rest we needed. Mónica was a great host and she was really helpful and welcoming. Thanks 😊

We really enjoyed this stay in Porto. The location was fantastic and the host was great. Would highly recommend this home for any visitors to the beautiful city of Porto.

The river and mountains view from the apartment was really nice. It is a studio apartment with some stairs to climb. There are beautiful hilly and river surroundings with river beaches nearby. However, telecom signals are not there in the apartment and one needs to depend on WiFi only. Also there are no grocery shops or restaurants before 5+ kms. Overall it was a peaceful and serene stay in pristine natural surroundings

The location is overlooking the river Douro and Porto, so the views are amazing. The metro was also very close by, as was the bridge crossing by foot, so we were able to get around very easily. The house itself was very comfortable and we appreciated having a washing machine.

The apartment is as shown in the pictures. It is very clean and has all the necessary utensils for the stay. It is located in a quiet and easy to reach area. Alberto was attentive at all times and gave me very good recommendations. I recommend it 100%

Perfect apartment to get away for a few days with your partner, it was clean and tidy with a recent renovation. The host was attentive from the first moment, she didn't take long to respond and was attentive throughout the entire stay to make sure it was to our liking. I would definitely stay here again!

This is an exceptional Airbnb. Fernando is a welcoming host and an interesting man to talk to. The house is spacious, generous and peaceful. It is also beautiful, with character, and perfect spots for every season. The sitting room must be lovely in winter. The walks in the nature reserve were lovely! You won’t want to leave.

Jorge’s beautifully restored mill house by the river was perfect for our two families (five boys, two dogs). The old molinero blends historic charm with modern comforts; underfloor heating, smart thermostats, so you enjoy nature and luxury. Bedrooms vary but are all spacious with designer bathrooms, including one with a jacuzzi. Shared spaces are ideal for family time, with a big wooden table and stunning views of the waterfall. A unique, special place! I especially loved the fireplaces in both houses, adding warmth and charm in the evenings. Down by the river, the little house, terraced deck, and outdoor jacuzzi were pure fun - a generous touch from the host, truly worth it! And the Valle del Jerte was just wonderful; we enjoyed two beautiful walks between rain showers. Thank you, Jorge, and special thanks to Bianca for the warm welcome. Hasta la próxima!

Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

A Hidden Gem in Nature! We had an unforgettable stay at this stunning farmhouse! The setting is absolutely serene—surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air. The highlight for us was definitely the natural water tank. It felt like our own private spring-fed pool—so refreshing and peaceful, especially in the mornings. The farmhouse itself is beautifully maintained, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The interiors were cozy and spotless, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals. Waking up to the sound of birds and sipping coffee on the porch while looking out over the landscape was pure magic. Our host was warm, welcoming, and very responsive, offering great local tips and ensuring we had everything we needed. If you’re looking to disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with nature, this place is a dream. We can’t wait to return!

I would use the word "Exceptionnel" for this stay. The chalet was almost new, everything was well done, functional, well equipped and decorated with a lot of taste. As the place is a bit remote, the environment is also very calm and relaxing. Would return any time.
