Family-friendly vacation rentals in Central Province

I am English staying with young family.. 6 of us a laf minute booking. Much to appreciate from RUPUL as a Barrister at the Bar in Kandy/Colombo and country’s high Courts . I’m a forever returning visitor. The sitting room so stylish and crammed with not just law material! The breakfast was excellent and very accommodating for taking 2nd one with is to sight see early. One of the best stays I’hv had in a while! Mr. Silva and his team are the sweetest. Never ever did I hear the word NO from them in the 2 days we stayed at the Brockenhurst Bungalow! The food they prepared was made with so much of effort and love. The heritage vibe of this bungalow is unmatched! We had an early departure at 6am. The chef made sure we had our breakfast handy with a smile!😀 The views are amazing, the fireplace is soothing. If you want to learn hospitality then staying here is a must! :) 10/10 recommendation if you’re visiting Nuwara Eliya

Everything was as described. This spacious, clean and well equipped apartment is in a very good neighbourhood. The family were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. They even supplied tea and washing powder. Great value. I would highly recommend this place.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Nilantha et Bilani !! Cest une famille très accueillante et la communication était très facile. Leur maison est très agréable, située dans un environnement paisible, à proximité du lac et de nombreuses randonnées. Les lits des chambres sont très confortables et la grande terrasse ainsi que la grande pièce de vie sont très agréables. On recommande chaleureusement !

Our stay at Bandara’s place was a truly remarkable one. The place was designed by the host himself and has a local feel to it. The host is wonderful and responsive. The breakfast we ordered was also healthy and fresh. Bandara’s wife offered us fresh watermelon juice after a long day and it was a great touch. Bandara and his family were always one floor away and were very helpful and responsive. Bandara sent us a van for pickup from the airport at a convenient price and greeted us with tea. He offered to drop and pick us up to surrounding places. The host also arranged for a jeep to pick us up for a safari at a very reasonable price. Bandara also spoke to us about his personal experiences and told us some stories about himself and provided us with excellent local tips. We enjoyed our stay at Bandara’s place and would recommend Iduwara Guest to anyone. Looking forward to visiting again!

I stayed at Riverside for 3 weeks and it was a great stay. The apartment is situated a few km out of Kandy in a small village, which is great as you get to experience real Sri Lankan life, I found the villagers very friendly, often stopping to chat to me. The bus to Kandy is just 10 mins walk away. The apartment is lovely, very spacious and with a wonderful large balcony perfect for eating and working. There's an outside plug so you can plug in your laptop. Hiran and family are lovely, Hiran is happy to help with any problems and the breakfast cooked by his wife is delicious and different most days. I'd definitely recommend this apartment and I'd stay again also being a solo woman traveller I felt safe at all times.

Our host couple Indira and Lakshman are very attentive and helpful people whose hospitality comes from the heart. We stayed for six weeks in their beautiful house, which is situated in a lovely garden on a hill in Sirimalwatta. Our flat with kitchen and two bedrooms also has a terrace where we always had our meals as a family of four. We liked it so much that we will be staying here again temporarily on our next visit to Sri Lanka in the autumn. Lakshman also helped my husband a lot with one of his local projects and arranged an appointment for him with the local governor.

Staying at Muditha's place was wonderful. The apartment is a little outside of the city center but can easily be reached by Tuktuk. There are a few local markets nearby, we found a grocery store and a local bakery with tasty snacks that can easily be reached by foot. It is surrounded by small temples and lots of greenery, which makes it a good location for peacefull strolls around the neighbourhood. The apartment is very spacious and clean. There is no AC but there are fans in the bedrooms and since the location is a bit higher up, it's not too hot at night. The hosts were very honest and warm people. They gave us privacy but answered within minutes if we ever had a request. They even showed us their garden and let us say hello to the chickens 🥰 They helped us with our every need and even made sure we got on the local bus safely on the day of our departure. I would definitely recommend staying at this place if you are spending a few nights in Kandy!

It was a really nice stay. Bandula was a friendly host and gave tipps for sigiriya. The breakfast was a a really nice top on. We would recommend it and its a good location to slow down a little bit and reach everything good in sigiriya.

Fantastic home and some great help from Danuo and Praba who cooked some fantastic food and were always there to help and offer services and information . Praba was a great Caddy ! Overall a fantastic host, house helps and definitely recommend for families and friends coming to Victoria

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, somewhat remote, villa with amazing surroundings. We walked down to the river, did yoga on the patio and had Ayurvedic treatments next door. The owner is a charming person with a beautiful vision for the place. He was very friendly and took time out to show us around the garden and let us try fresh herbs and spices. I would recommend to have a car so that you can get to Kandy and visit all beautiful and inspiring sights the area has to offer.

A true retreat, nestled in the mountains. think stunning views, tranquility, wild peacocks and monkeys,but not a handy location to sight see from. Map was misleading and Haputhale is an hour away. Rooms are simple with delightful antiques. Staff are very courteous but have very limited English. Food was simple and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Make sure you book meals in advance. They kindly arranged a delicious birthday cake for us. Beautiful gardens with architectural features everywhere, lovely views, good swimming pool but lacking any comfortable seating. A truly unique place to get away from modern life.

We were lucky enough to stay in the treehouse for three nights. Great host, great location and terrific accommodation. Was particularly wonderful to throw oneself in the pool after a hot sweaty excursion day. The food was fantastic. Wouldn't change a thing

Accommodation is lovely and cosy. Peaceful and private spot. Restaurant dinner is great value and delicious. Breakfast I thought was overpriced.

La stanza si trova in un edificio ancora in costruzione (il loft) a qualche metro da quello principale (la villa) ed è molto spaziosa, con ampie finestre lungo tutte le pareti che affacciano direttamente sulla giungla e su un'ampia terrazza privata dove poter cenare e fare colazione. Nonostante il late check in siamo stati accolti con grande cortesia e professionalità e la chef Selvi si è proposta di cucinare la cena nonostante il tardo orario e il fatto che non lo avessimo richiesto in anticipo. La colazione e la cena sono servite direttamente sul terrazzo privato e sono sempre deliziose, siamo stati in Sri Lanka per 20 giorni e non abbiamo mangiato cibo tradizionale più buono di quello cucinato da Selvi. C'è anche una bellissima piscina (che però non abbiamo utilizzato). La pulizia della stanza e del bagno era buona. Il verde, la professionalità dello staff e la deliziosa cucina di Selvi hanno reso il nostro soggiorno davvero perfetto! Istuti!

Our stay at Somaland was an incredible experience! We were treated like royalty yet felt completely relaxed and like at home. The colonial mansion is very beautiful. Impeccably preserved and kept, luxurious and comfortable, it’s huge and full of exquisite furnishings. Such a rare opportunity to be able to stay in such a magnificent residence with such history, surrounded by peaceful gardens and lush landscape. Our trip was only enhanced by the divine attention and service of Nilani and Gamage. They welcomed us into the home and looked after us like special family members. So thoughtful and kind and fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an extraordinary and wonderful experience. Pieter the host was incredibly helpful and attentive with many extra tips along the way.
