Vacation rentals in Caué

Yaras Castle ist derzeit die einzige Möglichkeit, auf der Insel Rolas zu übernachten. Alles ist neu und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Das Haus ist mitten im einzigen Dörfchen auf Rolas gelegen. Es hat zwei Schlaf- und ein Wohnzimmer mit Aircondition, sowie ein Bad mit Dusche und eine Küchennische mit Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank und Kaffeemaschine. Es gibt 20m vom Haus eine Bar und ein Restaurant für alle Mahlzeiten. Vor Ort kümmern sich Rui und sein Team um alles. Sie haben uns mit einem Cocktail am Strand empfangen, uns die Insel gezeigt, uns Ausflüge organisiert und waren immer bemüht, uns den Aufenthalt so angenehm, wie nur möglich zu machen. Rui spricht neben Portugiesisch perfekt Englisch. Vielen herzlichen Dank, für eine tolle Zeit. Wir können Yaras Castle jedem empfehlen, der die wunderschöne Insel Rolas im Zentrum der Welt mit ihren paradiesischen Stränden und vor allem den herzlichen und lieben Bewohnern für länger als einen Tag erleben möchte!

Très bel endroit calme et reposant en pleine nature au sein d'une plantation de palmiers et de vanilliers. Le lodge était très agréable Le petit déjeuner est un régal pour les papilles et le diner très bon. Merci beaucoup à Claudia et Bastien qui nous ont aidés pour l'organisation d'excursions pendant notre séjour ainsi qu'à tout le personnel de la plantation avec une mention spéciale à Edito qui nous a fait découvrir Praia Chichi et à Zao pour sa gentillesse Bastien a été très réactif à nos différents échanges Nous recommandons vivement ce logement

Our family had a wonderful stay at VANHA. Bastien went above and beyond to host us, especially with the children / he took us on a walk around the plantation, at night set up his telescope to show us the planets and stars. His shop of local products is also amazing! Went home with vanilla pods, interesting tea and although we don’t drink, friends who joined us for a meal happily bought bottles of his bespoke gin from the distillery saying it was “clean and delicious, the best gin in Africa”.

VANHA exceeded all expectations. The room was spotless and beautifully new with a gorgeous ocean view, but what truly made this stay exceptional was Bastien's incredible hospitality and passion. His deep knowledge of São Tomé's history and sustainable farming made every conversation fascinating, while his amazing drinks perfectly complemented the authentic rural tourism experience. Bastien was the ideal host - always responsive, attentive, and genuinely caring about his guests' experience. His love for his farm and dedication to excellent hospitality shine through in every detail. If you're seeking an authentic taste of São Tomé with a knowledgeable local guide who's passionate about sharing his island's treasures, VANHA is absolutely perfect. Highly recommend - I will definitely be back!

We had a lovely time at Bastien’s, it was a very peaceful location and off the beaten track. Beautiful local beach which we had virtually to ourselves. Bastien gave us really good instructions on how to get there and which roads to avoid. The staff were great however when booking trips you need to book with Bastien or his assistant. We were approached by another member of staff about a trip, which we thought was legit and agreed. We were told after that we shouldn’t have done that. While Bastien was very proactive in sorting it out it did make us feel a bit awkward around the said member of staff. One thing to consider is there is no air con or hot water due to it being an eco-lodge, which was fine with us but others may struggle. Apart from that we can’t fault our time spent there and would recommend to anyone travelling to Sao Tome.

Wunderschöner Ort am Ende der Strasse. Man kann es fast nicht beschreiben, man muss diesen Ort besuchen und übernachten. Die Bungalows super schön und mit Solarstrom ausgestattet. Abends fliegen die Fledermäuse und am Tag gibt es Besuch von kleinen Vögeln, einfach herrlich. Das Abendessen immer eine Überraschung, super lecker und gut gewürzt. Das Frühstück einfach, aber super fein mit der selbst hergestellten Konfitüre und den Tee von der eigenen Plantage. Der Strand, Praia Vanha, gleich unten an der Unterkunft ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar über einen kurzen Weg. Er war für uns der schönste Badestrand in Sao Tome.

This place is absolutely stunning! Beautiful beaches and nature all around. The seafood at the lodge was exceptional.
