From Varildgården there are great day trips to Charlottenberg, swimming or skiing in Torsby, Badeland and Selma Lagerlöf's spa in Sunne or a trip to Rotneros park. Hiking, cross-country skiing and swimming locally.

Magnor center about 2 km where you have for example Magnor Glassworks and porcelain, Ingelsrud confectionery, Kiwi and gas station. Skotterud about 7 km. There are several shops and cafes there. Sweden is about 4 km away. Charlottenberg shopping center is located a little further in. Alpine center about 20 min away. Kongsvinger golf club about 25 km and there is a golf course in Eda.
