This is not for everyone! We offer a small and very private (heated) cabin that sits on a seasonal stream. There is no bathroom, plumbing, or electricity. There is an outhouse. It is not suitable for toddlers, as there is a stream with a steep rocky bank and a narrow bridge without a railing. Lake George (the actual lake) is 1/4 mile away as is a marina (2 closest are Castaway and Fishers). The village with public beaches (and bathhouse) is a 10 min drive. There is a hiking trail from the cabin.
“Thank you so much for allowing us to spend a much needed relaxing long weekend at your place! It’s clear that you put a lot of thought into the location and the amenities as well as the details of the cabin itself. The cabin is comfortable, cozy, and clean. The property is beautiful inside and out. It’s also functional with many hooks and drawers and the way the space is laid out. It was lovely that both of you checked in on us during our stay. It is so considerate that you have added “little touches” such as the battery operated fan and light. The smattering of just enough solar lamps to provide landmarks but not mar the perfect darkness. The various labels around the building and grounds. The black hose allows for the water to warm for washing up. You provided soap, empty separate trash and recycling bins, a few cooking utensils, a grill, two chairs for sitting around the fire, and wood available on site. We slept well on the bed and it was so nice that you provided extra pillows, blankets, and towels. Even paper towels, cleaning wipes, a broom, a vacuum, an indoor trash can. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to stay again!”
This tiny, magical, rustic, cabin is situated overlooking a large pond on a private property of 200+ acres. Though the cabin is very small (about 10x12 ft with an upstairs sleeping loft) it is quaint and lovingly made with hand split cedar shingles and locally harvested wood. There is an outhouse and no power/running water, but a 5 gallon cooler of spring-fed drinking water is provided.
“Was so nice the first time we had to come again! Wood stove is super cozy and we would come back in a heart beat in any season! Perfect location for visiting Gore Mountain. Since this is winter its of note that you may need snow tires/chains to reliably get around after heavy snow. After coming a few times I would also recommend a headlamp/nice lantern for extra lighting options. (Many are provided, but I preferred my gas burning lantern) Many thanks to Margarete for being a great hostess! The cabin is thoughtfully cleaned and stocked each time we've visited!”
Private room in apartment, shared bathroom and large kitchen. Each room has its own mini fridge and flat screen smart tv. Through our AirBnB you might see security cameras, we put them up for our hotels safety and protection. We will also see if our guests bring unexpected friends or family that were not put into the reservation, and thus charge extra.
“My bestie and I met at Ilhan’s a couple hours before the 3pm check in time. We wanted to get started on hiking one of the mountains. Before I could message our host to ask if it was okay to leave one of our cars parked there, I got a message from Ilhan with the codes for our room! It was completely unexpected and perfect timing! Our stay was great and there were so many personal touches! Our checkout time was 10am on our last day, but we wanted to go kayaking on Lake George before we left. I reached out to see if it was okay if we left 1 car parked there again and Ilhan said it was no problem! Thank you for being so flexible and accommodating, I truly appreciate it!! This was also my very first time using Airbnb and I couldn’t have had a better experience. I will definitely be back again😁”
